All that She W A N T S ...

... is a dress. She -YoungLady & HerVeryOwnSelf- dreams about a dress. Multifunctional one. No, there is no single one under the sky... Well, She is smart and said there might be one for sale but we don't know where. So she had an idea. She remembered Her VeryDearSweetSuperCuteMom is a cloth designer who can make A N Y T H I N G. So she shoved me a pic on internet and said; this one but not that part but similar than here but made like that including those except these and... That was the point where I said S T O P, just draw me a picture about it FROM EVERY DIRECTION. And that was what She actually did. See the picture above. There are figures from front, back, sides, up and down! :)

This is not my design, it is YoungLadyDesign. It is TheMEKKO :)

And here we go: Mom's Pattern Studio. Here we start. Except BiG BiG hurray. She wants to sew it! If I agree to advice Her. I am glad to do so! It reduces my work a huge amount of hours!

Multicolored Collar

Again my design studio has been busy. This collar is for DearL. whose hobby is snowmobiling. The collar is colorful and includes MosaicBubbleStitch on front flap which I learnt this year.

The mustard shade at neck part and flaps' bottom edges is Novita's 7 veljestä (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (150g = 300m). So is the grey shade at flaps' side edges. And actually 7 veljestä is also all that colorful yarn at both flaps. It is from Novita's 7 veljestä "birds" collection and is called the great tit. If you look at The Grand Cut tutorial you can see how excellent they have been able to transfer the great tit shades on the yarn!!!

The beige shade I use as the bottom on flaps is Novita's Nalle yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (100g = 260m). The same I used at BlanketNo2.

The hind-flap has rows of SeedStitch made of beige shade and SingleStitch rows made of colorful shade. The front flap has MosaicBubbleStitching used brown shade at the bottom and the great tit shade to form out the bubbles.

The neck part has SingleCables.

On the pic you can see how these collars I design and knit are supposed to use. Over or under a shirt; how ever you like. We already had ones as a child. Very practical way to protect your neck, shoulder and chest area at the arctic but not getting too hot when exercising or playing outside.

My hobby is not...

My hobby is not shopping. But on January- February it is good time to find some proper sale stuff at shops.

New decoration lights for my veranda...

Notebooks actually for my old fashion letters to friends...

Some stitching stuff...

And some education...

And a frozen adventure.
Yes indeed, I bought it for Me&MySelf!

KnittingNeedleCase -tutorial

Do you remember that on January the 7th I was still Feeling Xmas?

I'm in a craft challenge where you will do something self and hand made on 2016 to your friends who are in the challenge with you. On January the 11th I told this is going to be something for DearJ.

This project really turn out to be a bit challenge because MyDearHelga refused to sew this to the final end. The start went fine. We had no troubles at all. But at the end it turn out disaster and too thick for her sensitive soul. Hmpf!

This is a tutorial but there are no exact measures for sewing. This is an idea of it all what you can do to make your own KnittingNeedleCase.

I used felt, fabric and cotton wool.

I used white felt as lining to protect the back side of stitching. I turned the seam allowance on the right side to make it look pretty.

I used red quilting as decoration on grey felt.

The fabric I used is cotton and designed for quilting.

Cotton wool is pretty thin and I placed it between the felt and fabric to make the case to be more protective for the needles and hooks.

The stitched part forms the pockets for the needles and hooks. So there is actually 2 layers of fabric between which is the cotton wool. And then there is on the top this stitched part.

I stitched the middle part of the fabrics together. That seam forms out a fold like a book.

I stitched the smaller pockets for needles and hooks. Again; through it all.

I also folded a flap of grey fabric to keep the needles and hooks in their pockets.

Here you can see how I stitched the pockets through it all so it can be seen on the other side too.

I sew the bias tapes in the way that they can be used as fastening system with bows.

The stitching for the pockets and sewing the bias tape were the parts my sewing machine refused to sew as too thick. I was a bit disappointed. But at the end I accepted this fact and went to my mother-in-law. She has ancient proper old fashion sewing machine which is made of real steel and eats any kind of fabric; even real fur and leather... Oh those good old times!

Here it is; for DearJ. She will get it on the next weekend!

It is for all year-round use despite it reminds us all about winter and Xmas. I know she knits a lot also for Xmas so hopefully this reminds her about it that we all who receive her pretty hand made gifts by Christmas time think her with warm all year-round!

The cross stitching is designed by Fiona Crouch
for CrossStitcher magazine issue 273 year 2013
Christmas Tags kit was a free gift with the magazine

I designed the KnittingNeedleCase. Hope this tutorial helps you to have an idea how you could make yours.

It was the sun!

Nuka is getting bigger day by day.

She loves our walks in TheWoods.

She is such a HarryPotterDog...

...see the lightning figures on her cheeks!!

Despite we have factories in Kemi, despite even around here we want the nature to be more clean...

...still we can find hanging moss which is sign of unpolluted places.

Snow...

...more snow...

...some extra snow...

...snow on trees...

...snow on my path...

...snow up high...

...snow by the sea shore which is actually frozen... yep, still....

But few days ago on our walk I noticed something very strange...

...yes, it was true...

...I walked on to see it really was true...

...TheSun!!!!

Yes! It was true! The Sun!
Its beams reached the crown of the trees!

(Well, since that it has not showed this kind of marks of itself, but these pics prove: S P R I N G is soooooooon H E R E !!!!)
