I designed and made this bobbin lace book mark. I used DMC Embroidery Thread and white linen bobbin lace thread for this project. I used blue loose end variegated shades threads that runs from and edge to another. It is very easy and beginners level bobbin lace project.

I designed and made this bobbin lace book mark. I used DMC Embroidery Thread for this project. I used loose end variegated shades threads to get it more lively.

This is how you get them to keep the original shape. First you Iron them and then stiffen them. This bookmark includes only the basic whole stitch and at some points extra twists. Very easy to complete also at the beginner's level.

SewEasyBookmark

I sew this easy bookmark. It is an easy gift for yourself or someone else. You need only beginner level sewing skills and a sewing machine to complete this. I've done these before but this one is a bit different...

The back side is made of a special felt with glitter decoration. It creates even more personal touch for this bookmark. 

This one actually is a birthday gift for someone born on Valentine's Day. That's why I included a birthday card which is partly made of recycled items (cut off picture from a magazine).

Today at work I run a bookmark workshop. It is up to civic skills. This week adult education colleges in Finland stand for civic skills. Sewing basic skills are one of them. I designed and made these bookmarks. They are easy to complete by beginner level sewing skills and basic home sewing machine. For these bookmarks you can use left over materials so they are also FashionNOW option.

I designed and made a page corner bookmark of left over leather I found at work. This is one of the sample works I need to make for the present and coming courses. First I ironed the piece of leather because it was so wrinkled. Then I wet it and stamped the surface and let it dry. Now it looks more like a fish skin instead of bull.

Hobby Bookmarks

Bookmarks are such a cute little gifts you can easily send via snail-mail with a card. The bookmark can reflect either receiver's or givers passions and interests. 

Bookmark Garden

I designed and made this bookmark match with padded pen case. Together they form out a pretty gift for a friend who also loves gardening and writing. For the bookmark I used recycled ribbon and card board (inside) to create it eco-friendly. 

 

SummerClouds BookMark

It must be quite clear already. I love bookmarks. I have some kind of passion on them. This is made of patchwork fabric and recycled ribbon. The card is made of recycled notepad cover.

 

SnowFlake BookMark

I designed and sew a winter spirited bookmark. YoungLady asked me to make one as a gift for her friend who figure skates. Blue felt and winter themed ribbons create a perfect bookmark. 

The bookmark itself is placed between the pages.

The elastic band is tied around the book. This method keeps the bookmark in its place no matter what. The elastic band around the book makes sure it stays closed and as tidy as possible even when carried in a bag with you.

I designed easy to sew bookmark.

You need just thick felt and some ribbon. This ribbon is from my Tallinn journey. These bookmarks are fast to sew even without a sewing machine. You can personalize them easily to choose a ribbon that is suitable for the person it is made for. I think bookmarks can be like a piece of jewelry. These ones pictured here are also beautiful budget gifts.

I designed and made this bookmark to match with AlicePenCase. For the bookmark I used the recycled button and ribbon. Also this is for YoungLady. It was funny, when she saw the materials sorted out on the table she said "I want a bookmark of it." Didn't tell her, that was it what I was exactly intended just about to do. Love her!

 

Lavender Bookmark

 

This time I designed and made a bookmark from something old and something new. It must be even two decades ago I received a beautiful gift: a notebook with lavender embroidery decoration on the cover. When I finally had used also the very last page of the notebook I saved the cover because I wanted to re-use the adorable embroidery decoration. Here it finally is. Matched with ribbons I bought from Tallinn, Estonia and felt which was a gift from a friend aboard.

I made another bookmark from an alpacca (GermanSilver) spoon I've won from a skiing competition as a child. They are not difficult to make but still create a special gift. This one is decorated by initials like the one I made in March. You can also decorate them in other ways.

The one I made before is decorated with the spirit of whirlwind in snowfall.

This one is personalized by initials.

I designed and made this silver spoon bookmark. It is made of a spoon I won from a skiing competition when being a child. These spoons are made of GermanSilver (alpacca) so they include a lot of other metals than silver itself. But they still are beautiful and nice memories from the past.

Only Flora

This floral bookmark reminds us about the summer gardens during the arctic winters we spend only dreaming about the colorful world.

The ribbon and button are from Karnaluks craft shop Tallinn, Estonia. The ribbon is quite thin so I used bias tape behind it to make it more thicker.

Heraldic Flora

This heraldic flora themed bookmark is made by -again- the ribbon and button I bought from Karnaluks craft shop in Tallinn, Estonia.

The button is beautiful and matches well with the ribbon. I didn't make the buttons and ribbons match to each others at the craft shop. I just collected everything I liked and trusted in it that they all will find their special places.

Owls

Isn't this WoodlandOwl themed bookmark fascinating! I bought the ribbon and button from Karnaluks craft shop in Tallinn, Estonia.

The OwlRibbon is a bit thin so I made it thicker by a fabric ribbon I've saved from ChocolateGiftBox. They match together very well despite no chocolate was left anymore.
