PaintbrushCase

Take a look what I made. It is a paintbrush storage case for Him. I used only leftover and recycled materials. I used a cardboard chocolate can, but any can like this does just fine. I covered it by a fabric which I attached by glue.

The fabric is left over piece from another projects. I have used it for His BookBag, FaceMaskCases and AutumnStylePenCase. It was easy and fun to do this!

LondonPenCase

I designed and made this little pen case. I used recycled zipper and left over material from LondonCovers. LondonCovers are still in use and the system works perfectly in our daily life routines. 

The pen case has a brand new lining inside. The recycled zipper was so long that only half of it was used for this project with the lock. The rest of the zipper is still in perfect fit so I decided to seek another lock to match with it so I can use also the left over piece if I just happen to find the new lock.

The back side of the pen case is also "right side up". It is possible when you make a seam at the bottom. In that way you can read the map always "right side up".

I made two more pen cases. They are both padded.

They both follow the similar idea at front and back side.

Because they are padded they have lining too. Both have also recycled zipper.

3xPenCase

I designed and made three cute pen cases. These two smaller ones you can use also for smaller things like cosmetics.

The bigger one I made for my grand child who loves to observe the birds with us. The birds have a special meaning in our Sámi cultural heritage. Different birds may symbol / stand for different things. From small signs you can notice this pen case has a connection to the roots and heritage like with the baby winter overall.

I made the lining for them all.

You can use what ever fabric you like for the lining.

AutumnStylePenCase

I designed and made autumn style pen case. I have used the same fabric for face mask cases and BookBag No13. I have all kind of materials in my stash which I can use when the need or/and inspiration hits on me. It is just practical because then I can start right away. 

For this project I used the fabric I bought years ago. I added recycled ribbon and zipper. They match well with the fabric and create the pen case to be more practical.

PaddedPenCase Garden

No matter how busy I am I always try to find some time for crafting. Here's my own design patchwork padded pencase. It includes many stories: dear garden hobby, fabrics received from two different friends, inherited fabric and recycled zipper.

AlicePenCase

 

I designed and made a pen case for YoungLady. I received this beautiful fabric from my dear friend E. from UK with the idea to make something special for YoungLady. Again, notice recycled zipper.

PolkaDotPouch

I designed and sew a polka dot pen case. It is small. The zipper is just 14 cm long so this item is usable also as a small pouch. I used polka dot fabric I've inherit from my granny and recycled zipper. It was fabulous to find a circle decorated black zipper from my storage box! It is like made for this cute pouch project. I don't like polka dots a lot but with tiny portions it is quite chic.

 

Numbers PenCase

I designed this NumbersPenCase with the idea of drawn numbers on a blackboard. I used Blanc DMC thread on black Aida to create the effect.

BrownBear PenCase

We start the New Year 2018 by opening this pen case. It is all my own design. It has beautiful lining in it and cross stitch picture for the decoration. It has recycled zipper which matches perfectly with the other materials.

I stitched my own design BrownBearWondering to decorate the pen case. You can find free chart for it here. This is a pen case but you can easily storage something else -like you small stitching projects- in it too.

In my culture the bear is also the symbol of power and strength. I wish them both to you all for the year 2018. Be safe and show your love to your family and friends at least.  Never forget to ask how they really are doing. Everyone don't cry aloud, show their troubles and difficulties but may suffer in silence without wanting to trouble the others. If you think someone is lonely, ask yourself could you do something about it.

And if you feel you are lonely and in the need of support; just try to say it aloud. For sure the are people to help you out, they just have not noticed you need them. Or they think you are already having help. Let them know and be there for you.

LittleSheeps on PaddedPenCase

It has pretty recycled zipper.

It has fresh orange lining.

It has fluffy sheeps on a summer field and it's all my own design.

The pen case is padded and there is free chart for LittleSheeps.

PersonalizedPenCase

 It seems we are having pen case days! But this is a great idea to get a bit more organized.

My own design for PersonalizedPenCase. I used chain stitches to embroider the pen cases to find out easily what is in.

I used old fashion fabrics from GrannyTimes and created a story looking outfit. 

BubblePenCase

 

I knit & sew cute little pen case. This is the sample knit when showing you how to knit MosaicBubble Stitch. I used many left over yarn in knitting.

I used a zipper I found from Anne's valise. It fits so well with BubbleStitch! YoungLady loves her new pen case.

I made cute white felt lining in the pen case. The white felt is Swedish army left over material. Many left over or recycled things form out brand new item.

EasyPenCase -tutorial

This time I wanted to stitch something small designed by someone else. So I picked up my magazines and ended up to this.

I chose Fiona Crouch design from Cross Stitcher issue 273 (December 2013) on page 56.

I used my left over threads of blue (DMC 775, 3325 and 312) and pink (DMC 818). I stitched it on left over Aida 14CT fabric.

DMC 312 was for the back stitches. I like them. For many times they crate the final touch.

But Fiona Crouch's design was not all I needed. I wanted to personalize the stitching. So here we needed some Taija design. This time I was old fashioned and used some pen and paper.

Ta-dah! Personalized Tag!

 When I was re-upholstering the massage table some Faux Leather (artificial leather) was left over. I of course kept it all. Now I used some bits of it to make a PenCase. I cut a hole into one piece by a carpet knife. First I draw exact size of square I needed on the back side of the leather. Then I used ruler when cutting the square to keep exact straight lines. Then I placed Aida behind the leather and used sewing machine to fasten these two fabrics together.

Then I re-formed the edges of the tag by special scissors. Try out the scissors at first on left over fabric before starting the cutting. Just in case it dosn't cut it at all at the end.

For the PenCase I needed 23 x 31 cm size piece of Faux Leather. I fasteded the tag on the place I wanted.

Then I fastened the upper edge of the zipper. Zipper size is 20cm.

Then I fastened the lower edge of the zipper and sew the side edges of the PenCase.

But no, it was not finished yet. The zipper needed a pull. I made it from beads. And the side edges needed some trimming too.

The PenCase is my own design like the personalized stitching but the heart figure stitching if designed by Fiona Crouch.

This is very easy way to make a PenCase. The tutorial works fine with real leather, faux leather, plastic fabrics and felt. Ready to make easy and low cost Christmas gifts?

First gallop and reading pleasures

I just finished two bookmarks and pencil case. A girl who loves horses and reading will get them as a birthday gift on Valentine's Day! I like to stitch bookmarks. They are fast to stitch, you can create a design easily by your self and there's always a material for a one or two bookmark.

The book marks got ideas from an old magazine (Anna Kreuzstitch - E732) which I bought perhaps at 2003. There was no this kind of design for a bookmark but nothing stops you stitch in the way you want and need. With the yellow bookmark I used also small pearls. The pencil case has got its cross stitch idea from Cross Stitcher calendar 2010 which I got as a gift from a friend. All the materials in the book marks and pencil case are loose end threads and left over fabrics from old projets. Only the zipper is new and it cost 1,20€. A good, cheap and reasonable gift idea to a school girl who loves horses and reading.
