AAW SimpleGloves No2

I designed and knit another pair of simple gloves. They differ from SimpleGoves No1 because these don't have single cable decoration. This pair is for a man.

This pair is for a female. You can see the difference from the shape of the glove. For both I used our AAW yarn (40% our own ethic produced arctic angora wool, 40% FinnSheep wool, 10% arctic dog wool and 10% nylon).

BabyBlanketNo8

 I finished my own design BabyBlanketNo8. I used Schachenmayr's KidLight yarn for the blanket (38% nylon, 32% polyacryl and 30% mohair) (100g = 600m).

I used left over woollen yarn for the embroidery to attach the crochet flowers. I used also left over yarn to crochet the flowers. It is for a baby girl but blue flowers do just fine.

I knit the blanket and crocheted the edges. I used knitting machine for the knitting so it indeed was a fast thing to do, despite MyKnittingMachine works only with man power.

I made the pics at the same time with BlanketNo7 in -18 Celsius dergees when it was rising up a snow storm. This blue shade is typical for the arctic climate. The pics have no filter.

WarmChristmas

I have finally finished my last secret XmasProject. It is for my mother-in-law. It is a long warm scarf.

She can not wear sheep wool so that's why I chose Drops' alpaca & silk mix yarns. I used Drops' Baby Alpaca Silk (brown & white) (70% alpaca, 30% silk) (50g = 167m) and Drops' Alpaca Silk brushed (white) (77% alpaca, 23% silk) (25g = 140m). I also used some white Novita Teddy yarn (45% wool, 30% polyamide, 25% acryl) (100g = 110m) to crochet decoration flowers.

It is my own design especially for her.
There's warm fluffy lining in it.

The size of the scarf is approx 25cm x 220cm.

It is GingerbreadScarf!

It took many hours to make it but it all was worth of it. I used knitting machine for the brown part. Then I crocheted the edges and flowers. Then I tack the lining by my very own little fingers.

Hand Made gifts take some time and  commitment but it is always so wonderful to make them, give them and have them. The Love of Hand Made Gift warms you up through the whole cold season despite t would be something else than a warm scarf.

We wish you all Warmth of Hearts this Christmas.

Date with Eva

Morning and frozen drops on the window.

Noon and frozen snow flakes on the window.

Around 8 pm on the Granny Walk.

I   L O V E   I T

Oh my Yule, Yule, when will you be there...

Well, today I had a date...

...with Eva!

She is my knitting machine. I inherit her from my grandmother a decade ago. It's been few years since our last date so we needed to chat a bit to get it all sorted out.

I needed Novita Wool yarn
(100% wool) (50g = 135m)

Now I am mixing some Novita Säde yarn with it by crocheting...
(58% acryl, 28% polyester, 7% mohair, 7% polyamide) (50g = 205m)

Busy hands

Lately I have been knitting scarfs and doing some crocheting. Both are simple crochet & knit design and anyone can do it who knows basics of this craft. The best thing is you can buy brand new yarns or use the loose ends for it.

This is a sewing bag. It's my own design for my friend K. who can store or carry with her in it the projects she has going on. Of course you can use it in other purposes too or when making it, leave it as a round basket. What ever you like and which ever is your purpose.

(On the background is my first ever embroidery project. It's an old design from a craft magazine and of course I needed to start with a huge table cloth instead of a card.)

I designed this scarf. I knitted the base for it by my knitting machine and crocheted the framing and flowers.

I have also paid better attention on a book I got as a birtday gift. It is interesting and I can recommend it to you because of its multiusability. It's 200 Crochet Flowers, Embellishments and Trims by Claire Crompton.

What I need to do next is to make a cd bag for my own use. I have planned that for months but it seems always comes up everything more important. Perhaps I should take this as my spring challenge.
