YellowAutumnSet

I designed YellowAutumn mittens and headband. For the decoration I used two Single Cable chains. The yarn is Drops Air mix yarn (65% alpaca, 28% polyamide, 7% merino wool) ( 50g = 150m).

The mittens and twisted cross headband make a perfect match together. They are for the Yule 2026. My mother-in-law will have these then.

I designed and knit these beautiful Yellow Autumn mittens. They are decorated by single cables. I used Drops Air mix yarn (65% alpaca, 28% polyamide, 7% merino wool) ( 50g = 150m). I kind of like it. It has a special structure and it feels very soft. These are not for me.

SilverScarf

I designed and crocheted a very simple & soft scarf. It is not for me. It is made of DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk yarn (77% alpaca, 23% silk) (25g = 140m). If you are allergic to lanolin (sheep wool has it a lot) or itch easily, alpaca and silk are perfect options for you. 

AlpacaShawl

I designed and crocheted a shawl. It's long tassels create even more warmth to snuggle up in a hug created by a friend.

I used natural white Drops Alpaca Silk yarn (brushed) (77% alpaca, 25% silk) (25g = 140m) for the shawl and rose Schachenmayr's  KidLight yarn (38% nylon, 32% polyacryl and 30% mohair) (100g = 600m) for the tassels.

WarmChristmas

I have finally finished my last secret XmasProject. It is for my mother-in-law. It is a long warm scarf.

She can not wear sheep wool so that's why I chose Drops' alpaca & silk mix yarns. I used Drops' Baby Alpaca Silk (brown & white) (70% alpaca, 30% silk) (50g = 167m) and Drops' Alpaca Silk brushed (white) (77% alpaca, 23% silk) (25g = 140m). I also used some white Novita Teddy yarn (45% wool, 30% polyamide, 25% acryl) (100g = 110m) to crochet decoration flowers.

It is my own design especially for her.

There's warm fluffy lining in it. 

The size of the scarf is approx 25cm x 220cm.

It is GingerbreadScarf!

It took many hours to make it but it all was worth of it. I used knitting machine for the brown part. Then I crocheted the edges and flowers. Then I tack the lining by my very own little fingers.

Hand Made gifts take some time and  commitment but it is always so wonderful to make them, give them and have them. The Love of Hand Made Gift warms you up through the whole cold season despite t would be something else than a warm scarf.

TeapotCover

 This TeapotCover continues my Dream Blue Sleepy Kit. Also this is my own design.

TheTeapot is ARABIAs 24h serial. Santa brought me it at YuleTime 2014. (Under TheTeapot is poncho which my dear friend K knit and gave me by YuleTime 2013.) I don't collect any ARABIA but this teapot has beautiful design and it fits well with my other tea stuff; like Lena Furberg mugs I found on my summer adventures.

The TeapotCover is fastened by buttons. It is washable and warm. The white yarn is 100% Novita wool.

Dream Blue Sleepy Kit

50% alpaca and 50% wool hand dyed limited edition yarn by Drops. (50g = 150m) I so so love it. These are for Me&MySelf and my own design.

Sleeping socks are always useful. Under these you can wear another pair of socks to hide your toes or wear them in this way if you need to warm up your feet but let your toes to breath a bit cooler air.

(No, these ballerina ankles are definately not mine...

...they belong to LittleLady.)

This fabulous Sleepy Kit is also my Second Knitting Challenge for the year 2014 which was about learning to knit cables.

Blue Drops for Me

November is my month.

Dear L tempted me to take a visit with her to a yarn shop I didn't know to exist. Despite it locates quite nearby.

Simply to say it is Böök.

Yes, I bought something else too because I am Santa's Little Helper; but these I bought for Me&MySelf because it was November.

Updating?

I was loading a picture for you about something else and found old pictures from the last Christmas time. The clothes are my own design but anyone who can knit a pair of sock can do the same. Actually these are easier than the socks. So have a try and make someone happy.

For the Christmas 2012 I knit these kind of sets for a BabyBorn doll. I used loose end yarns. Simple, cheap and made one little girl very happy after Santa Claus visit. I sew also a bag for the clothes so she won't be missing doll clothes so easily. :)

First day of December

These mittens are the ones I mentioned before. Very proper ones because knitted in three times. The yarn is Fabel superwash I used also with the furry green hat and scarf. This yarn can't be seen so well with the hat and scarf but here you see how does it look.

The problems I had with knitting was that first the mittens were too short, so I had to add more until my Fabel Superwash yarn ran out. It didn't help. They were still too short. So, I went to my yarn box and found very well matching, a bit thicker yarn, which is Novita's Nalle Colori. (Fabel Superwash has 205m / 50g and Nalle Colori has 130m / 50g.) The difference with outlook is so small that you can't notice it if you don't know about it. Nalle Colori begins at the top of the mittens right after the last white-grey stripe. At the end it was actually good I ran out of the yarn because in this way the mittens warm up the fingertips better.

These mittens are for horse riding use. They come under leather mittens with teddy lining. Riding in the frost is cool job to do. I knitted these mittens for tiny hands to give extra protection against frostbittens. It is good idea to use yarn that has different kind of shades so you don't need to change the yarn to get lively and colourful surface on your work. These are my own design but I bet anyone who can knit a bit can create something similar.

Green as her eyes

Is there any bigger pleasure than the moment when someone takes you to yarn shop and tells you to pick up anything you want and promises to knit something from them for you? And pays it all! Well, some time ago I took a girl to the local yarn shop and she chose green shades of yarn to get new woolly hat and scarf. I must tell we spent few intensive moments to pick up right yarns. And later on she needed to think did she pick up the right shades or not. When she saw it all finished she was so happy because of the shades. They fit so well to her green eyes! She doesn't know yet she's going to get woollen mittens too with her Advent calendar... It is always so nice to make someone happy.

These woolly hat and scarf are very easy to stitch. These ones are my own design but you don't even need an instruction for it. Just keep on knitting. :) The woolly hat has tiny ears which appear more and bigger during the time. The hat is rectangular shape and at the end you just seam the left and right sides. The width of this rectangular is half of the head size. If you want make sure the hat won't get too big after using it for a while, make the width to be few centimeters too small. Woolly hat is flexible so it won't be too tiny easily.

The scarf is a very long rectangular -as long as you wish. Both hat and scarf can be knitted with basic right loops or using right and reverse (right on right side and reverse on left side). If your climate is not so cold you can use only furry yarn. I wanted these items to be more warm so I included woollen yarn with the furry one. I also knit woollen lining inside the hat. I used smc Brazilia from Coats for the furry look. It is 100% polyester with spruce green shade. The woollen yarn is from Garn Studio's Drops Fabel Superwash collection. It includes 25% polyamid and 75% wool. The shade is forrest green with different variagated shades.
