Andalusian Dream

 I have already finished my secret stitching project. Now I can tell it was up to Manic Street Preachers Forever Delayed album cover. Because I do know copy rights and respect them I can not show the pic of the finished project. We did it for our own purposes and Dear E loves her gift very much. It is on her wall now. BUT I have been designing and stitching something else too whilst you were enjoying my freebie week last week. :)

It is BlackWork but is not. It includes double running stitches, back stitches and cross stitches. I used Madeira Lana too.

It for sure has four legs!

It was going to be beautiful Andalusian Horse. 

There you go! See, I told you, four legs!

But it got something else too...

It got even lining...

...and zipper!

It all turned out to be a pretty bag...

... which you can open, put thing is and take out and close up!

It is my own design. I used 14 Count Aida (terracotta shade). The white fabric is raw silk (noil). 

It is a graduation gift for another special high school girl who used to help a lot YougLady on the past times when she still was LittleLady and a beginner with horses.

Because this special high school girl visited Spain this spring and had a lot horse fun there I decided to create something connected to it too. I designed the Andalusian horse and added some lace of which Spain is also known.

SummerSolstice

T H I S year we got much warmer SummerSolsticeCelebration time than last year. My apple trees blossomed just for the celebration. The hop has not grown as well yet as last summer but this time our May was colder and even my tulips were late. During May and June the weather has been everything possible; including hailstorms and finally now by the MidSummerTime hot hot hot. +24 Celcius degrees is hot. The weather was beautiful. With thousands of mosquitos.

Today we are back to normal; +13,5 Celsius degrees and pouring rain. I must tell you; after all my rabbits prefer this weather. Despite they are not allowed into their outdoor fence. All the mosquitos have vanished; thanks to the rain. And all the heat is gone; they L O V E it.

He was working over the MidSummerCelebrationWeekend. Yes, when Finns celebrate SummerSolstice it takes several days. It should start on Friday but usually people start it on Thursday already and keep going on until early hours of Sunday...

You know I already upholstered an old office chair and told you a story of our holiday. But because he was at work I used a box he has given to me. No, it doesn't enclose a knife...

...it encloses StitchingStuff!!!

Madeira Lana -tutorial

Here is 14ct Aida, velcro and my own design LittlePolarBear stitched by Madeira Lana yarn. Madeira Lana is an interesting case. It consists of 50% wool and 50% acryl. You can use it in the normal way -of course...

...but if you want some frizz & fluffy in your life: brush it by velcro!

BUT there is A LITTLE WARNING. You need to do these Lana stitches at first, brush the fluffy effect out and only after that do all the other stitches to avoid spoil you total entire stitching.
