Lumipallerot

I designed and made children wollen pullover Lumipallerot (=snow ball tots). It was an interesting project. 

I used blue Novita's Natural Colledction Islandic wool (100% wool) (50g = 90m) and white Novita's Isoveli (75% wool, 25% polyamidi) (100g = 130m) yarn. 

I used mixed methods to make it. It has themes from Icelandic and Norwegian pullovers, Fair Island knit and Bubble Stitch knit. It also has raglan sleeves.

There is tutorial for Bubble Stitch. I made it in 2016.

MeditationSet No1

 

I've designed and made Snowball set. It includes woollen socks and hand warmers. 

I used white Novita`s 7 veljestä yarn (75 % wool, 25% polyamide) (100g = 200m) and blue Kaupunkilanka yarn (75 % wool, 25% polyamide) (100g = 200m). Kaupunkilanka is quite new to me but so far it feels all right. It is a bit rough like Lankava's Alli yarn, hopefully not a disaster like that.

I was inspired by the snowballs and winter when designing these. I used bubble stitches to make the idea come true.

The set is for meditation moments over the chilly winter months to keep fingers and toes warm when relaxing and empowering. 

CherryBubble

A pair of woollen sock is finished. I used Novita 7 veljestä yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (150g = 300m) which I still have small amounts left. It is my own design. I use BubbleStitches too and from the tutorial you can see how they are created.

ZebraCrossing

Yesterday I posted about StreetLights woollen socks. I have designed another pair for you and it's ZebraCrossing woollen socks. As you can notice I have not knit them but I need to show you the idea. The basic colour is black. The foot part is plain knit with white stripes. You can make just three stripes or fill the whole foot area by them. I am sure all the boys love both StreetLights and ZebraCrossing woollen socks and wear them volunteer. Have fun in knitting!

StreetLights

I designed and knit StreetLight woollen socks for DearN and His coming Christmas 2017. Two years ago He got FinlandWoollenSocks. He liked them a lot but has overgrown from them now. He was happy when I promised to make a new pair for Him but didn't tell what kind of woollen socks they will be at this time. He goes to the school this year so traffic rules are very important now and He's been learning them well.

I used Bubble Stitches to create the street light effect on the dirt road. There is tutorial for Mosaic Bubble Stitching in MyPreviousBlogPost. On these StreetLight woollen socks the bubbles come one over the other, not interlocked like on the mosaic style, but the basic method to knit them is the same.

I used left over threads without labels from the box of yarns I inherit from MyGranny so I can't name which trademarks I used. The red and yellow yarns feel like acrylic. The green feels like Novita's 7 veljestä old quality. That sand brown yarn feels like wool mix but of course I can not be sure about any of them. The sand brown yarn feels like the one I used in BabyBlanketNo4 and BabyBlanketNo5 which DearN got last year. The sand brown I used for these socks was the only ball of that shade but on the other hand it was in the same box than the yarns I used for the blankets...

Connecting different kind of yarns for woollen socks is possible if you use them as a decoration. These kind of products you should wash carefully but with woollen products it is always done so if you don't want to felt them on purpose or accidentally.

BubbleStripeSocks

9th pair of my own design woollen socks for this autumn comes here. These are for my mother and made by using the yarns I inherit from her mother. (Still no labels for these.) I used Bubble Stitches for decorate knitting and just normal stripes. They feel very soft and are happy colorful!

YuleBubbleSocks

One more my own design woollen sock pair is finished. These are for my mother-in-law. Let's not tell her that yet. She will find these in her YuleGiftBack I always make for her.

I still am using the yarns I inherit from my grandmother without labels. I used Bubble Stitch knitting to decorate these socks. It works very well with grey-red contrast.

BubblePenCase

 

I knit & sew cute little pen case. This is the sample knit when showing you how to knit MosaicBubble Stitch. I used many left over yarn in knitting.

I used a zipper I found from Anne's valise. It fits so well with BubbleStitch! YoungLady loves her new pen case.

I made cute white felt lining in the pen case. The white felt is Swedish army left over material. Many left over or recycled things form out brand new item.

I've been knitting more bubbles.

I designed and knit WoollyBubbleHat.

It fits perfect with BubbleSocks and BubbleMittens.

I used the same yarn as in socks and mittens. It is Sublime's lusturous extrafine merino dk yarn (67% extra fine merino wool and 33% of nylon, 25g = 95m).

I like it a lot.

It is all mine.

But hey, I still have this yarn left. Let's see what else will be designed to accompany MyBubbleSet...

Mosaic Bubble Stitch -tutorial

Here is tutorial video how to knit Mosaic Bubble Stitch. I used it in my own design Bubble Socks.

The chart shows you how to design your own Bubble Stitch knitwear. In this sample I use flat knitting. Because the work is turned the number of colorful rows -which form out the bubbles- must be even. If you knit in the round; it doesn't matter.

The number of stitches must be divisible four; three for the bubble and one for the space between them.

See the chart to notice the rhythm of the bubbles. There is no bubble standing right on the other. They are like interleaved.

BubbleSocks

I found fabulous and extremely interesting yarn. It is Sublime's lusturous extrafine merino dk yarn. It looks all plastic and just fake fibers. It feels extremely warm and soft. Also the shades are delicious. That's why I picked it up from a sale basket at my local yarn shop. I was surprised to notice the yarn consist of 67% extra fine merino wool and 33% of nylon (25g = 95m). The yarn has been made in interesting way. The merino wool seems to be locked up inside a web formed by nylon. I love it! I just love it!

I used the shades 332 Laurelie (grey), 335 Peridot (green), 291 Hush (very light pink) and 294 Folie (pink)

I went into the yarn shop because I had something in my mind. I wanted to knit BubbleSocks for Me&MySelf. This is how BubbleKnit looks at the back side. Have you ever tired it out? If not and don't know how to don't worry; later on I will put up tutorial about MosaicBubble Stitch.

I am very curious to see how this yarn will withstand wearing. They should; according to the ingredients. There should be 15-25% of polyamide or something else mixed with wool to make the yarn withstand wearing. But here the nylon is like a thin web around the wool. I have never tried it out mixed in this way.

These my own design BubbleSocks will be MyOfficialVisitSocks.

Rest of the time they will be waiting as folded for special occasions to see MyFriends.

They are not very thick but still feel very warm. I knit also tiny SingleCables to decorate the socks. The Cables are so small that they come clear out only when wearing.

Oh! Just look at those legs. They are not mine even I would love to claim for sure they are! But no, I am too honest; so I must tell they belong to a model. :)

Multicolored Collar

Again my design studio has been busy. This collar is for DearL. whose hobby is snowmobiling. The collar is colorful and includes MosaicBubbleStitch on front flap which I learnt this year.

The mustard shade at neck part and flaps' bottom edges is Novita's 7 veljestä (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (150g = 300m). So is the grey shade at flaps' side edges. And actually 7 veljestä is also all that colorful yarn at both flaps. It is from Novita's 7 veljestä "birds" collection and is called the great tit. If you look at The Grand Cut tutorial you can see how excellent they have been able to transfer the great tit shades on the yarn!!!

The beige shade I use as the bottom on flaps is Novita's Nalle yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (100g = 260m). The same I used at BlanketNo2.

The hind-flap has rows of SeedStitch made of beige shade and SingleStitch rows made of colorful shade. The front flap has MosaicBubbleStitching used brown shade at the bottom and the great tit shade to form out the bubbles.

The neck part has SingleCables.

On the pic you can see how these collars I design and knit are supposed to use. Over or under a shirt; how ever you like. We already had ones as a child. Very practical way to protect your neck, shoulder and chest area at the arctic but not getting too hot when exercising or playing outside.
