One more bag for MyAdventCendar made of a stitched card. Did you know red houses are typical to Finland and Sweden region? As well as are yellow, green and blue wooden houses too; which you can also see elsewhere all over  Scandinavia.

Robin

This Robin stitched on a beautiful Christmas card got a new life to decorate My "AdventCalendarToBe" during all the coming Christmas seasons in the future. I really love the idea to have all these stitched little pictures on MyAdventCalendar and in that way to have MyFriends near me by every Christmas season in the future!

SnowFlake

If you have been following MyBlog for a while you know I have few bad habits. I destroy cards. But I do have MyExcuse and very good reason. I really do love, respect and value the cards MyStitchingFriends send me. I really appreciate the time they spent for doing so. I  save each card I get. I cherish them all but feel so sorry put aside the stitched ones after the season. That's why I have discovered to create a new life for them; to keep MyFriends far and away close to me by their crafts.

I received this fabulous beaded SnowFlake stitched on a card from DearFox. I was very touched by it and knew how to remember it always.

I used some felt, satin ribbons and BiasTape to turn it all out as a small bag. (There is a practical tutorial for HomeMade BiasTape.)

I need a loop to hang it. The loop can be fastened in the easy way with the BiasTape.

For what I make these bags? I made two on April 2016. I also stitched one this April. I have 4 bags already. I need 20 more which makes 24 all together. They are going to be MyAdventCalendar like He got His. Creating MyOwnOne seems to take time but that's ok. Meanwhile I can use His and eat His chocolate by accident. Oooops....

Xmas is Back

I sew two little cute bags. I don't know the designer or publisher of the stitching. These are from Christmas cards friends sent me last year. I have been destroying cards before. This definitely was not the 1st time.But only because I want to see them in use and feel the joy of having them time after time.

I made these cute bags because I have decided to turn out all the arriving stitched Xmas cards to bags in the future. See, I plan to make a bunting of them and hide Xmas sweets inside!!!! I don't have an Advent Calendar of my own and hide MySweets in His Advent Calendar Letter to Santa. So, this is going to be something for Me&MySelf.

MyNovember

MyNovember is full of secrets. They are sealed by MyFriends. This year AdventCalendarAdventure has been easier because YoungLady wanted Minions chocolate Advent Calendar. So it was easy case at this time. But I already filled His(&Mine) Advent calendar. Still need to fill MrW's calendar.

These SuperCuteSocks I knit for a tiny Xmas. I used Novita's 7 veljestä yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (150g = 300m). The socks are small and thick because this tiny girl will need them at the stables to keep her toes warm in the boots. I used SingleCables and crocheting to decorate them. My own design.

Advent Calendar -tutorial

This tutorial is for easy Advent Calendar. It is my own design and here I show how to make bags into which you can hide small treasures. These bags you can hang on your stitched or sewed calendar. Or just where ever you desire to; the stairs, bed, curtains... set imagination free!

For these bags you need felt, ribbons and buttons... and some sewing skills. :)

But you need to decide the size of the bags you want to make. Mine are 5 x 10cm. Which means I need 1 + 1 = 2cm seam allowances for the width. That's why I drew the pattern sized 7 x 20cm. (Later on I will fold the felt to form out the bag.)

I drew the pattern on the felt and cut it off. Then I measured and marked the place for the button.

By using painted number buttons I avoided a lot of work because I didn't need to sew or stitch the numbers.

I used this yarn to fasten the buttons but any other will do just fine.

I folded the bags (remember this when measuring the place for the button), sew the right edge and measured the place for the loop made of ribbon (these ribbons are cut approximately to 6½cm long, according to the figure on the ribbon). Notice the seam allowances come on the right side of the bags to decorate the edges. Because here is used felt, the edges will stay neat.

Sew also the left edge with the loop. So simple is that. It might be easier just pin the place for the loop instead of trying to pin the loop there too (it might get dislocated). It is easy (be careful not to sew your fingers) to put it on its place while sewing if the right place is pinned.

If you want you can use another ribbon to close up the mouth of the bag.

 It all started with placing the right points.

These two adorable reindeers are designed by Jenny Barton and you can find them at Cross Stitch Favourites magazine's special issue from the year 2007. It includes Rudolph Reindeer trio. I have stitched them all but here you can not see the first one where Rudolph holds his gift still unwrapped. I used loose end threads and stitched them on plastic canvas to create Chrismas tree decorations. During the years I've given them one by one as a gift to a special person.

Advent Calendar time

I filled again old Advent Calendars. This year they include only chocolate, so if you are addicted to, don't look. And if you have not noticed to look at my link list take a look at it now.  I would not mind to have one... or them all.This is over 15 years old project still used every year. It is designed by Maria Wavryn. It is from Marks&Kattens collection (Tavla 55689 "Tomtefar"). It is designed to be a wall decoration but I made it to be Advent Calendar.

It is time to enjoy about Advent Calendar treasures. This one is my own design. Not at all easy to stitch but for sure worth of it.

I added also a picture I made for a friend as a birthday gift. It is my own design but very useful idea, so be my guest and make yours. It is a craft bag. It is sized according to a yarn ball so that she can easily bring for example yarn and unfinished knit of mittens with her where ever she goes to. Carrying a craft with you is a good way to waste time when you need to wait for something somewhere. It makes the time to fly by so much faster. In this kind of design I like about the very usable idea. You can use the left over materials you have. You don't need to go shop to buy anything -no buttons, no zippers, just yarn and imagination. :)

Proper work

Lately I've been busy with the Advent Calendar. Only few more gifts are missing. This year it will be more like an Advent bag. The reason is the calendar includes 7 books. I bought these books from the second hand and they all are horse books. See, this year someone wished to have horse themed calendar. I told it won't include alive horse but I got the reply "that's ok". Well, it won't include death one either. But some horse stuff. It is not a coincidence the books are for the weekends. Otherwise someone would refuse to go to the school before reading.

The calendar include also mittens which I have knit three times so they are very proper now. I think best ever. I usually knit mittens only once... Sometimes people ask how come I am so skillfull. I always tell it is not up to it how well you do it all, it's up to it how well you can fix your mistakes! If the mittens need to be knit three times then I just do it.

Advent calendar can also be in a bag. The bag I used is old. This bag includes different kind of things and is horse themed. The horse books are from the second hand shop. There's also some other horse stuff and something sweet too. I have included also three cards -each have a poem. The wrapping paper I used is just white and enviromental friendly. You can decorate white paper with stamping or drawing and add pretty ribbon with card.
