Rosa majalis (free chart)

Today I had an inspiration for you. I decided to include Free Charts to this blog. I went through my own designs behind the years. I have them all in paper print outs but also in the modern form. At least I thought so. I ended up holding my tears when I realized the stored  modern form was old fashion by now! I kept on telling myself don't panic, don't panic, don't panic honey! Then I started to use my brains instead of emotions. Who needs a huge chocolate pie or pair of woollen socks? Who desires cake with almonds? The who, who can bring my designs to the year 2011? And in few minutes I had found someone who can do it and desires to have a huge chocolate pie. Best of it all was that I was told it is not a big deal at all, you just need a computer with all the delicate details. As simple and easy as baking a cake... if you know how to do it. So, here you are:

Easter is still far away

It is true there's many weeks to Easter. But if you make your cards it's never too early to start. With hurry you will only to mess around. With time the ideas have enough time to form out better way. And who says the cards need to be finished in one day? There has to be always a project going on.

These Easter cards have something old and new. The hen stamp is old and I have used it in Easter cards since 2009. It is from Inkadinkado. This year I decided to treat me with new stamp. It had to be useful for many occasions. That's why I ended up to this Penny Black's stamp "Gift of flowers". Later on I can use it to birthday cards and perhaps to warm season party invitation cards too. It all depends on it how I will colour the picture (spring, summer or autumn theme) and will I use background card (which shade) or not.

Here's the invitation cards fof a birthday party. The same stamp than above. Almost the same colors than above. But still very useable also in this purpose. Multi-useable stamps are nice.

Wrapping papers are useful

I always talk about it how important it is to see the options for craft making around you. Free materials surround you from every direction. You just need to open your eyes. Today I made a card using piece of wrapping paper I had put aside time ago. Very useful piece of paper. And very wanted piece of paper among girls.

This card is made from a wrapping paper of a bedding pack. Careful cutting makes the picture of the cat look like a scrapbooking stuff from a craft shop. It is very easy to save money and enviroment by card making. Personalized cards are always loved and put up a smile on someone's face. And materials for the cards are all over you. You just need to pick them up.

Invitations should be sent earlier

Nothing is more frustrating than a birthday party invitation which arrives few days before the date. You want to keep your mind, attitudes and opinions. You want to buy as little as possible. You want to avoid the consumption hystery. So what you can do? You can sit down, clam down and think. What you can do in such a short time? When you get the idea you just need to work and make it to come true. And at the end you make two creatures happy -the visitor and the hero of the day-.

This wallet got idea from old Cross Stitcher magazine (January 2006, pages 39-41). Again all the materials are from the old storage of mine, so nothing needed to buy. This is the first ever wallet I have made but seems to be fast to stitch and easy to sew so it would be a perfect gift idea to anyone. At the end it didn't need much fabric or thread so it is a good budget craft to make.

Lace and relaxing

Seeing your friend is always wonderful experience. If a friend lives far away it is good to spend a weekend with her. You always want to bring a special gift but what it could be. When going through books and magazines you are more sure about it that it has to be self made with love. Then you get the idea and work with it with passion. At the end when your friend sees her gift she knows it is espeacially made for her and she will hide her treasures into it.

When I was thinking about a gift for a friend I was inspired again by Agnes Delage-Calvet, Anne Sohier-Fournel, Muriel Brunet and Francoise Ritz. Good ideas were offered by their book Made in France at the pages 114 - 115. I fell in love with the cross stitch and back stitch designs which give the impression of lace. I realized that small cosmetic bag is a good gift idea to every woman. I used 14 count Aida fabric -which I found from my sewing box. The thread I used was white loose end of Coats Anchor Chain Mercer-Crochet 40 which I have got too many years ago from another friend of mine.
