Dangerous loops

The Saimaa ringed seal is endangered mammal. Its only enemy is human being. How dangerous we are? Still many are afraid of birds, butterflies, lizards, sharks, kittens... and doesn't mind about walking through the crowds. (I have stitched it also on a CreditCardHolder.) (My own design <3 )

Loops are cute, warm but dangerous in the wrong place. In my BlnaketNo2 they are there where they supposed to be -warming up my freezing winter nights. I still have plenty of time to finish it.

I so love my favourite yarn shop. On the other day when I popped in the lovely lady had saved me one more teetee stella ball for my own designed blanket! She had been cleaning the store and found one more. I so love that service.

My 1st fixing

May I intorduce HIM? He is my dear bunny I have had almost all my life. The Dearest Person Ever. He looks sad but when ever he is with me I can tell he is smiling. His squares remind certain kind of cookies we used to have in the childhood. His nose is like a chocolate bean. His ears hear all the secrets and his eyes see wide away.

He has been loved so much. And fixed time after time. And yes, I fixed him. All by myself, with my tiny little fingers. I knew I will never be too big to have him. <3

Sparkling in the blue

Oh boy, the shawl and evening bag are finished! Well, the bag needs a decoration (bead work) for its zipper but we can call it finished by now. :) The dress itself is at a good point too. The dress needs only zipper and the hem. I must confess I have saved hundreds of euros by making this dress, shawl and bag for myself. They all are my own design too.

Framing No1 -tutorial

One of the cheapest and easiest way to frame your cross stitch project is to use this kind of frame and do it by yourself at home.

The most difficult thing in this is to get it right in the middle and straight.

Cut the extra fabric off.

Neaten the edges by zigzag or overlock.

Tack the edge and tighten it gently.

Secure the fabric and don't forget the knot at the end.

WOW! It is finished!

Summer solstice time

Our MidSummer time was the coldest in 30 years! So, I am still wearing my woollen socks. My weather has been something most people call winter. But still I am enjoying about the summer. The sun shines all day and night. The warmth just disappeared... MidSummer celebration at summer solstice time is as big fest as Christmas (Yule) around the winter solstice here in Finland. (By the way, we call them juhannus and joulu... )

I have spent my days sewing...

Did you know that some fabric shops can print you (for free) the fabric information so you don't need to remember it all?

I started to create my evening dress for the special celebration in July.

I had to pick up very old pattern...

...to make the piece to see how it fits or does not at all. The result was -after ten years- it still fits. Yeppee, it makes it all easier! So I had to make only the design changes to the pattern. :) WOW, I am so happy!

So I re-draw the pattern with the desired changes.

I cut it all.

And I prepaired it all for sewing. I will make the dress, shawl and evening bag.
