Scandinavian Woollen Socks

I knit a pair of knee height woollen socks as a birthday gift for someone special. I used traditional FairIsle -style  decoration on them. You can find some northern traditional patterns for example at 150 Scandinavian Knitting Designs by Mary Jane Mucklestone. It is a good basic book for your own inspiration.

Notice, for example, the pattern designs on these socks are traditional. None owns the copyrights. That's why it is ok to make some even for sale.

For these socks I used Novita's Pohjola yarn (45% wool, 30% Finnish wool, 25% polyamidi) (100g=200m). It has variegate shade so it is easy to use. For the figures I used light grey shade of Novita's 7 veljestä yarn (75 % wool, 25% polyamide) (100g = 200m).
