ScotlandStory (part 4)

When travelling alone - without travel agency- it is always a bit exciting to find a shelter. You can never be sure is it good or bad.

By Loch Ness we found very warm lodge by the village of Drumnadrochit.

It was Clunebeg Lodge and House. We had that 2 room suite and it really was a taste of luxury to spoil myself in that whirlpool bath in the middle of Highlands. See, we Finns have saunas, not bathtubes.

We fell in love with this place and its very welcoming, helpful and friendly owners & staff.

(They have no idea I am writing about them. I have not got or won't be given any discount, voucher or other benefits when telling you this all. I just want to share this with you to ease you to find accommodation by Loch Ness and courage you to stay there over a night or few on your holiday. It really is a place with a lot more than just the monster itself.)

They have their very own HighlandCattle too. It locates close enough to be seen and photographed.

So close, that even smaller children can walk those few meters. The cattle has big field but it do comes closer the house and lodge several times per day to be seen.

Around the House and Lodge goes a walk route (about one hour if you stop every now and then).

That route is worth of walking. It has great views over the fields...

...to the village...

...with the cattle and even horses.

During the walk there is also secret forest which for sure will raise up your imagination with old fairy tales.

The Clunebeg Lodge and House locates in the half way to the Drumnadrocit village and Urquhart Castle. Though there's about mile and half to both directions I truly recommend you to forget your car for a while. Besides if you get tired you can always take a bus and drive by it to this bridge and walk just rest of the way.

Drumnadrohit is lively but sleepy little village. If you want to get out, be forgotten and get rid of wi-fi you can go there. They do have it all but who says you need to be online all the time or several times per day. Instead of virtual world concentrate on the real one!

By staring at the road when driving or staring at you smart phone screen you will miss too much.

If you are city people Drumnadrochit is really safe place to step out of your car and go out. Even with kids. See the beautiful Loch Ness. You never know where you'll meet Nessie!

(Besides I can imaginate how exciting it can be for small knights to stay over night by Loch Ness, go late out to see if they can meet Nessie. Or will Nessie come to meet them...)
