Elisabeth Hjortvid's En lagom liten ponny

Elisabeth Hjortvid is Swedish author. Margareta Nordqvist has illustrated her book about a pony that is appropriate small.   :)

This book is again one of those I have bought just by 0,20€ and no one else wanted it. The pictures are beautiful despite Margareta Nordqvist is not my favorite illustrator.

I made a pretty and simple card for important 3rd birthday party for a horse girl!

The idea for the card is very simple. Opening the card shows more. Nothing else is needed!

Oh! I got a fabulous delivery from DearChildhoodFriend who has lived for ages in South Finland and on whose property grows few old & huge apple trees. With her DearDad she sent me three banana boxes full of HomeGardenApples. Yummy I must admit. I made 2 kg of AppleJam and  2 kg of AppleMarmalade. I sliced the apples, cooked them and pureed. From that apple puree I made the jam and marmalade.

I made also 12 liter of AppleJuice concentrate by my juicer and 3 big trays of ApplePie. Already most of it all is hidden into our freezer. I also gave a bit away and changed it for something else from local friends' gardens. Now my mind is going wild to figure out what to send as a"thank you gift" for my friend and the apple driver.  :)

There was no waste at all. MyRabbits had their part and the rest is for the deers in the woods.

TheCat was a bit annoyed and meowed a lot to protest HerRoyalSupper was late because of TheAppleShow. Well, it actually arrived just in time but the kitchen was not ready for it half an hour before TheTiming. You know TheCats...

DogShootingDay

We had DogShootingDay. It is not as bad as it sounds. We just need to find out what Nuka likes about shooting sounds. No animals were harmed. Neither Nuka's emotions.

Notice the antennas pointing out from her head. They are part of her radar. They send out the signal from transmitter to the receiver to find  out where she is located in the hunting in the wilderness.

She was not set run free in the woods yet despite it was possible. Because we tested what she liked about the shooting I needed to be able to control her. That's why she wore her normal leash and harness we use also for her swimming training. If she had been afraid of it would have been possible to control her "ESCAPE" reaction.

She wore her radar for the first time with the meaning to condition the radar, shooting and hunting in her mind to be part of the big picture. At first she was a bit annoyed about the antennas and transmitter when we put them on at home but when she got into the car she forgot it all!

BigBangs are horrible sound to dogs hearing so it is important she gets familiar to it otherwise she could get terrified in action. Now I only had to control her not to run to the shooting area. We started from 300 meters distance and got closer slowly. At the end we were able to shoot right next to her and she didn't mind at all.

We are so pleased with her.

SagaBag

This really is SagaBag. During last May and June I helped out my mom to sort out some stuff. This woven piece is one of the things I took home from there. I don't know who has done this but it obviously was meant for a pillow case. I wanted to use it for a handbag. I felt it in washing machine at first before I did anything else. I was very happy with the result.

The Shaman Drum fabric is left over piece from Nordic Collection of Important Items. It really looks it was created for my own design SagaBag.

There is small practical pocket inside the bag. The lining fabric is also a small piece I brought home with the woven fabric. It really was exact size for the bag lining! Like they were designed to be used in this way!

AutumnBag

Several years ago I got a beautiful gift from a friend. She had stitched me a wall hanging. Later it turn out I was not the only one to like about it. TheCat turn out to have weird obsession to it. At the end I had to took it away from the wall and keep it hidden to make it to be safe. Since that it has been in my sideboard.

 I have been thinking and thinking what to do whit it so that it could be around but safe from TheCatClaws. Now I finally figured it out! Anne of Green Gables needs another bag with CoffeeBagPatchwork.

See, Anne has got new power line. From the 1st pics you can see the old was green and this new on is much longer and white. No matter was the power line short or long it has a risk to be squashed in the treadle sewing machine cabinet between the machine and cabinet. It is very rare that a treadle swing machine has a power line but mine does. I have noticed it would be very practical if the power line would have a bag to keep it safe.

I realized I could make the bag from the pretty wall hanging DearM stitched for me. Now I finally can see it often and use it, hold it and just admire it. And TheCat can do nothing about it anymore!

I used velcro to close the bag just in the middle. In this way -if I need just a little bit of the power line- the rest can stay rolled up in the bag! Very useful idea.

DearL gave me some old fabric which I fould very suitable with this beautiful stitching whose designer I don't know.

These two very important bags of Anne fit in the cabinet with Her very well.
