I have started this year by learning a new skill. I have wanted to learn it for decades but never seemed to have a right moment for it. Last autumn a student of mine asked if I can do it. I could not. But I said it is on my to-do-list. And because I have the attitude that on my craft classes you can learn what you want and if I can't teach it to you, we learn it together.
I have inherit a binding needle but obviously lost it so I started the practice with a fat plastic tapestry needle. Meanwhile he made these three different size and type binding needles for me. They are made of moose femur bone.... of course the one we've eaten.
I asked him to mark them for me so that if they go around a class students see they are mine and are able to bring them back to me.
