WinterCoats

Last weekend we had TheBigDay again. It was time to shear the Angoras. MyAngoras live by the ArcticCircle. And they actually live outdoors. Which means they are protected by the weather but have no heating system. Because it is very soon December this is the result. I left 1-3 cm wool for each to keep themselves warm. The neck I needed to clip very short; and the bottoms of paws too. (To avoid messy wool blocks.) But the coat was left longer.

I must tell you they all are very happy in their shorter wool. It is around zero temperatures or few degrees plus (Celcius). When they still had their full length wool they had actually took all warm nest stuff out of their nest! They are adapted to this weather and seem to prefer cold than warm.

Poor Little Sandy -my Continental Giant rabbit- was a bit worried to see them all like that. But after sniffing them all carefully she understood they all are still the same despite they look much different. She is so much bigger than the others but still thinks she is such a baby! AuntLulu is at Sandy's left side and she really considers Lulu as her mom! And poor Lulu who had miscarriage over a year ago thinks Sandy is her baby. All the lost ones in the same huge pack. She still has Sleipnir and Pernilla, but she was very sad & confused when the boys needed to be taken out.

Despite of the size difference they all get along so well. Sandy is more active but has learnt the rules: no jumping on the others and use the toilet! :)
