WinterCoats

Last weekend we had TheBigDay again. It was time to shear the Angoras. MyAngoras live by the ArcticCircle. And they actually live outdoors. Which means they are protected by the weather but have no heating system. Because it is very soon December this is the result. I left 1-3 cm wool for each to keep themselves warm. The neck I needed to clip very short; and the bottoms of paws too. (To avoid messy wool blocks.) But the coat was left longer.

I must tell you they all are very happy in their shorter wool. It is around zero temperatures or few degrees plus (Celcius). When they still had their full length wool they had actually took all warm nest stuff out of their nest! They are adapted to this weather and seem to prefer cold than warm.

Poor Little Sandy -my Continental Giant rabbit- was a bit worried to see them all like that. But after sniffing them all carefully she understood they all are still the same despite they look much different. She is so much bigger than the others but still thinks she is such a baby! AuntLulu is at Sandy's left side and she really considers Lulu as her mom! And poor Lulu who had miscarriage over a year ago thinks Sandy is her baby. All the lost ones in the same huge pack. She still has Sleipnir and Pernilla, but she was very sad & confused when the boys needed to be taken out.

Despite of the size difference they all get along so well. Sandy is more active but has learnt the rules: no jumping on the others and use the toilet! :)

OopsLoops

What a beautiful woollen pullover. Unfortunately not mine. And more sad; it's broken! One yarn snapped down and two loops running away! If you look carefully you can see one loop is on the hook. And under it is a knot! I was able to catch the ends of the snapped yarn and tie them together. Then I collected the loops and actually crocheted them together. Not so common way to patch wool...

Hardly visible at front side but a huge risk in the structure.

Then I secured it all...

...and no one will notice. My friend will be happy! :)

Santa'sSecretSilverSet

Ho Ho Ho! I've knit a hat! I used Cewec's Silver Soft yarn (100% acryl) (100g = 330 meters) and Novita's apple green 7 veljestä yarn  (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (150g = 300m). This Silver Soft yarn was  left over from BlanketNo3 and I have used it for this Xmas Secret.

It was nice to knit this hat. It has double sided fore head part to block out the arctic wind and warm up the head. I used HorseShoeCable knitting at the front side which goes around like a band. I used SingleCables to decorate the head part. The SingleCables decorate also The Woollen Socks and The Mittens.

It all is Santa's Secret Silver Set for Young Lady's Xmas 2015

MyNovember

MyNovember is full of secrets. They are sealed by MyFriends. This year AdventCalendarAdventure has been easier because YoungLady wanted Minions chocolate Advent Calendar. So it was easy case at this time. But I already filled His(&Mine) Advent calendar. Still need to fill MrW's calendar.

These SuperCuteSocks I knit for a tiny Xmas. I used Novita's 7 veljestä yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (150g = 300m). The socks are small and thick because this tiny girl will need them at the stables to keep her toes warm in the boots. I used SingleCables and crocheting to decorate them. My own design.

OOW HatNo2

I was happy to knit this my own design hat for someone special. It is made of OurOwnWool (25% arctic dog wool and 75% Finnsheep wool). It is actually made to be match with LegWarmers and Hand Warmers

Dear December, hope you'll be here soon!
With love by me!

Zipper and flowers

Do you remember me shopping this cardigan at SecondHand?

I changed the fastening system. I wanted a ZIPPER!

Unfortunately old fastening system had left permanent marks on white wool. I tried to wash it 2 times without any good difference. I planned to buy a ribbon. But my mother-in-law suggested crocheted flowers. So I used her original idea with some changes. I didn't want to make a vine but the flowers looked a bit lonely and separated.

So I decided to decorate the flowers with matching buttons to the originals the cardigan has at its sleeves.

(I must tell you I am wearing it at this very moment and it feels so warm and cosy.)

OOW HandWarmers

Do you remember that I designed and knitted HorseshoeCable HandWarmers on the begin of this year? I used the same design to knit a bit longer HandWarmers at this time.

They are made of OurOwnWool (25% arctic dog wool and 75% Finnsheep wool) with love to someone special who really needs them to keep her arms warm.

They are made to match with LegWarmers.

Cat&Candles

Knitting for Christmas 2015 means many cosy moments on sofa. I must admit if it is not knitting morning She is confused and follows me around. She can not get sleep if I am not sitting on sofa and knitting. She needs to have me there; beside her. Like a baby!

Candles and Cats do not fit together. That's why I have MyCandleWorld elsewhere than MyCatWorld.

Mittens&TinyTubeScarf

Here is again some recycled buttons. This time I needed six of them. I collect old buttons. So does my mother-in-law. Sometimes we end up to each others collection. These are from her treasure box.

I knitted a tiny tube scarf to protect neck area from freezing arctic weather. It needs buttons. That's the only way to make it stay tight and not be stretched when pulling it in an out.

The buttons hide behind the neck.

But I knit also mittens to be used with it.

Both TinyTubeScarf and Mittens have HorseShoeCable knitting to decorate them. Both are my own design. I used Novita Lehto yarn (48% acryl, 32% polyamide, 10% wool, 10% mohair) (100g = 136m).

ArtPart1

On the last August I visited Kemi Art Museum even three times to see the same exhibition. It was up to local artist Jorma Kuula (1950 -2015) and his memorial.

He was locally honored and respected and taught also my grandma long time ago.

He tried many styles and shades.

But see, he was not only a painter. Most of all I like his sculptures. Unfortunately there is not so many of them. Perhaps he didn't find himself home and cosy with them.

Moments

On one day you get that stunning moment in your life when you realize something.

These moments make you to stop.

They make you perhaps to remember something important.
They make you want to take those needed steps to the right direction.

And go for it what you want and wish.

Sometimes we need these moments to be able to listen to ourselves.

Taking new steps, opening new doors and welcoming new friends.

Photographed at Millihaka.

FinishedWinterProject

These are buttons. They are HomeMade. The material is reindeer antler (horn). And actually made of ones which a reindeer drop down and then found by a human and collected for the further use. My father-in-law made these CuteLittleButtons. I got six of them for MyWinterProject which I started on July.

For years the idea of it was just in my head. This year I finally picked it up and made it to be seen on a paper and touched by hands.

I love polo turtle necks, wool, cables and just a little bit of romantic country style spice.

The shoulder area was very easy to make true at the end. I was a bit afraid of it but no... it was easy.

The turtle neck is made to be multi-usable.

The buttons can be seen or hide.

Turtle neck CLOSED & DOWN...

...and CLOSED & UP.

And here it is on me. I love it. Just in the way I wanted. My own design. All in natural shade without chemicals and 100% FinnSheepWool.
