Kuolajärvi - Ensilumi 1

This is my own design. It is a set which includes mittens and woollen socks. The collection is designed to respect my family history and connection to Kuolajärvi region and rise awareness of Forest Sámi people.  Ensilumi (= first snow) is the 1st released design of Kuolajärvi collection. Unfortunately, you see now only the mittens despite I've finished also the woollen socks. How naughty is that, but I do this to avoid copyright insults, meaning to prevent someone to copy it and start to spread around on internet. Later on, somewhere in the future, when the time is right, there will be proper pictures and instructions/patterns available. The collection will be suitable for all who want to respect Forest Sámi people, their cultural heritage and surviving. Until then, get excited! 😄

In February I knit TraditionalDecoratedMittens. Now I've finished the woollen socks with the same -our own- Sámi tribe decoration. The traditional decoration pattern is designed by Kirsi Mukkala. I've designed the mitten and woollen sock patterns.

This set is going to be a gift for my dear husband.

ForPens

This time I decorated the glass jars by sand, recycled wooden beads and some ribbon. This is another budget idea for a lovely gift for someone special. BabySpringDress

 

I designed and sew this beautiful little baby-girl dress for this Easter. I used very old fabric which I inherit after my grandmother who passed away on 2010. Actually, this is my old design and old pattern. I've made a blueberry baby-dress with the same pattern on 2011.
