We all have our ambitious projects. The ones that take a human life to be finished. I call these projects "Project eternity". Here's pictures of mine Project eternity which is actually a blanket. It has 21 squares of aida. Each square's design area is 82x82; 11 count which means approximately 19 x 19 cm.
It is going to be a very special blanket. To this blanket I will collect memories which I will turn out to be
cross stitch designs. It is ambitious and huge thing to do, I know.
Childhood friend bought the fabric from Budapest at early 2000. She gave it to me as a gift. Since that I have been thinking what to stitch on it. At first I was seeking designs that would perfectly fit to the square size. But when this birthday card pictured below ended up to my hands I knew the blanket was going to be stitched with my own designs.
With the permission of the painter I scanned the painted card and made it to be a cross stitch pattern. I started to stitch the design right in the middle of the blanket on August 2007. Then I had time to make only few first stitches until I had to put it aside. On the begin of March 2011 I picked it up again and have now finished the first picture of the blanket.
Below is picture of hunters having a break. For years I wanted to stitch this moment. But all designs I made didn't look great. When I was forced to lay on sofa on July 2013 I picked up again this picture. When I realized I should concentrate more on faces; it started to go on better. After the week had passed by I had design in my hands that satisfied me. Now it is finished and the blanket has one more square.
Below is the 3rd square of the blanket. She's a friend of mine. She should be named Hope because that describes her so well. Hope is all she had and it carried her so far. We all should learn from her how important it is not to lose hope and believe in there will be better days comming. <3
This is how the blanket looks at the moment.
